What is EB-5?

The U.S.-India Investors’ Forum is planning a unique and first of its kind road show in March 2013. The key objective of this road show will be to promote and publicize the EB-5 Program among Indian investors and help U.S. Regional Centers locate qualified Indian investors for investment in the United States.

What is the EB-5 Regional Center Investment Program?

To encourage immigration through the EB-5 Visa Program, the U.S. Congress created a separate EB-5 category for foreign investors who invest in designated "Regional Center".

A "Regional Center" is an entity that has been approved by United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). It serves as a conduit for individual foreign investment dollars to be used for economic development purposes, the creation of jobs and improved regional productivity in a specific geographic area.

The EB-5 Program allows a foreign national, his or her spouse and unmarried children under age 21, to obtain permanent residency in the U.S., by investing $ 1,000,000 in a project or $ 500,000 if the investment is in a Targeted Employment Area (TEA), or Rural Area (RA), that creates 10 U.S. jobs.
